Fall at Bluefin Bay

As promised.... The Bluefin Bay photo slide of our recent time by Lake Superior. We had a great time but it did rain the one day. The next day redeemed itself and it was wonderful sunny Fall day. It's nice to get both kinds of photos(gloomy rain shots and Sunny day photos).

We stayed at a hillside guestroom at Bluefin and noticed as a nice surprise that Bluefin updated some minor changes to the room. Very cool and unexpected! Plus, they finally got Wireless Internet ....can't go without that right? Oh yeah!

We had fun on our rainy and gloomy day. We decided to run around Lutsen resort and search for new places to snoop at on the shore. Lutsen gave us the keys to the new posh condos on the hill. We went to look at them and WOW...wonderful views and really nice. They were called cliff house Townhomes.

Usually if it's a slow time for resorts, they will let you look inside their rooms/units to see what it's like. A very good thing to do if your ever up that way and it's not so nice outside.

We found another place between the town of Schroeder and Tofte ...it was a new resort on Lake Superior. Very nice place. We didn't have time to check it out but if you ever stay there...let us know how it goes and if you liked it. The resort was called Temperance Landing and those log home rentals were right on Lake Superior shore. When I mean right on the shore....I mean right on the shore. U Could wade your feet in the lake from backdoor(ha)! They look super fun!

We went hiking on the sunny nice day at Cascade State Park. We've been on that hiking trail several times before. It's between Lutsen and Grand Marais area. Love that hiking trail with the Cascade River and tons of it's cascading falls thru the woods. Very nice! We also ate dinner at Cascade Lodge(which is right near the hiking trail). Really fun place to eat and charming old building and great food.

We also ate at our favorite stop along the way in Duluth MN. The place is called The Blackwoods and they have THE best food at great prices. Especially if you get there for the early bird specials. I always get the chicken breast champagne(linguine noodles in champagne sauce with lightly breaded chicken breast on the top). YUM! You have to stop there if your ever in the Duluth Area. Make sure you sit in the Lake view seating area. If you can't make it to Duluth and live in the twin cities area. There is a very similar restaurant in Elk River/Otsego, MN(North Metro) called the Rockwoods Grille. It's not as pretty of an area(no lake) but has very similar food/if not the same menu and great food.

The fall colors were not the best. Kinda spotty color throughout. Still found some colors in areas and got some fall color pixs.

Enjoy the photo slide! PS-if you like to see larger photo slide/just click below on "view all images" and the link will take you to SLIDE.com and can view larger format slide show.
