Thank YOU's

My family and I wanted to give out a BIG Thank YOU to the Holiday Inn Hotel in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Our family was able to stay together while planning my mom's service at the hotel. Not only did the hotel give us rooms at discounted price but the gave us a banquet room for our family to meet in after my mom's service. They pretty much took care of our entire family while we were up north for mom's funeral. My sister has worked for the Holiday Inn for several years, and they are like a family for her. They went above and beyond with their hospitality and kindness and we will never forget, and now see how much of a family this hotel staff is to my sister.

I want to Thank all that send Cards and flowers and well wishes and prayers to our family. I am in the process of sending out some Thank You notes. Thanks to all my personal friends that sent cards and sympathy notes my way. I want everyone to know HOW MUCH it means to get those notes in the mail and know that YOU are thinking of us in our time of need. Very much appreciated. Thank YOU!

I took a couple snap shots of my Mom's Bible. This is a testament to her Faith and how she read her Bible daily.


My sisters and I put together this memory board for the funeral services. Before we left home I grabbed a few scrap supplies I thought might be useful for mom's photos. I ended up making her Memorial service flyer/card(I don't know what you call them per say ....but the handout for people to follow during the service). I did the flyer in black and Pink. So I grabbed as many black and pink scrap supplies I could find in a hurry. I also did a theme of roses. So I copied some clip art of Roses on my printer and used them in the board below. My sisters collected alot of vintage photos of mom. The one of mom as a very young child in North Dakota was super cute...we named it North Dakota Girl. Mom was wearing bib overalls and straw hat. Than we used some Black and Pink Chipboard to spell out family, cherish and LOVE onto the clip art flowers printouts. Used some Queen and Company felt ribbon for border on the bottom. I had some card stock and 3 D butterflies left over from Valentine's K and Company that worked really well for the flower/pink theme. Turned out pretty good ...................a good group effort by my sisters and even a niece helped. We made this board just in time before we had to leave for mom's memorial service.

In Memory of MOM

It's been a awful day in my family............my mom passed away early Monday Morning. My sister's and I have been pretty much calling back and forth to try to figure things out for mom's memorial. We are about to go up North to help with the arrangements. I've been going thru pictures tonight of mom that I had in my scans. These are some I chose to use for mom's memorial service. This one of mom dressed up was taken at Doug and I's wedding celebration. I have some old ones of Mom and Dad together and some of Mom's Wedding.

We were all kinda shocked by the news, as I reported my mom was doing better and even maybe going to be out of the hospital and onto rehab.

She took a turn for the worse, and she did have Congestive Heart Failure. We think she had another heart attack and her heart just couldn't take it. Mom had multitude of problems, ontop of the heart problems.

My sisters Francine and Lorie were just going to visit mom and saw alot of people in her room. My sister noticed the chaplain of the hospital in the room also and than she knew something was wrong.

That's when the priest/chaplain of the hospital told my sisters mom had passed. They just spent 20 minutes trying to revive her and couldn't.

I know MOM was a woman of strong Faith and know she is in a better place....She won't suffer anymore and perhaps be reunited with my dad that passed away 24 years ago. My dad passed away in late June of 84.

Well, I should go here and I will probably be taking a break from blogging for awhile.

MOM Update

I know I said my Mom was getting better and we had hopes she was. Unfortunately, I got a call this morning that Mom was back in the hospital again. Now we have this awful phone tag going again that no body knows too much of what is going on because we all live away. So, every time we call and try to get info the news gets worse. Now Mom is in ICU again.

Thought I would just update everyone. We need to run up there again and see what is going on. It seems to be the only way to really know.

It's a bummer, I really thought since she was out of the hospital and on her way to therapy....that things were looking up. I guess they put her in ICU because of her Blood Pressure-Mostly.

On top of all of it, her spirits are down. She is starting to blame herself for what happened and I am sure she is going thru Nicotine withdrawals too. My Sister said she was depressed and not upbeat. So that doesn't help her feel better I am sure.

Along with that, she's been wanting to just go home. Now she back in the hospital, and sure that will make her more depressed. At least the dr. have her on a anxiety med. So maybe that will help with the depressed and anxious feelings.
