My Birthday Bash

Wow...it's been awhile since I blogged. I've been on Blog vacation for a week. Sorry bout that! I am finally blogging about my birthday celebration AND it's My 100th POST! Yippeee! I don't have any FUN planned for my 100th post. Kinda hard lately to just to get a post made. Well, you all know what I am talking about. Busy! Trying to get busy with my scrapbooking too. My Dh recently said something to me that rang TRUE. He mentioned to me that blogging is taking away from my scrapbook time. Pretty bad when my Dh notices stuff like that. Must be TRUE! Thus, Why I took a little break and scrapbooked ALOT! Wish I could say I made some progress but hey, it was fun anyway right? So who cares how slow going it was. Yeah, I am still working on my Bluefin Bay Vacation book. I am having fun with it and slow going because I made the book too Thick again. Could hardly close the thing. Am I the only scrapbooker out there that just puts way too thick of things on her pages??? Geesh! I am terrible with the embellies.

OK Enough Scrapbook talk.......here is my Cake. Pretty huh? Judy(My MIL) picked it up from Rainbow Foods. Yummy.....marble cake.

For the family tradition....the Birthday person gets to pick the restaurant to eat out at for the celebration. I picked: Space Alien's Bar and Grill. That place is so fun and such a riot. Lots of fun games, and toys for the kids and good eats for the adults, Reasonable prices too. Here is a pick of us at our table in the back.

I love this next photo. Aaron was into the games this time around. I told Doug he had to win Aaron a alien man. I seen many little kids winning these green alien men out of this machine all night long. So I told Doug he had to win us one....since it was my bday and all. Now, before you see the look on his face..........I have to warn you that Doug is so pathetic at games. He NEVER wins stuff I swear he is the worse game player around. Didn't help the situation when I rub that in his face all the time and was doing so here. I think the look on his face says it all. He tried So dang hard to win an alien man. He tried like six or more times and didn't win one. Finally I felt so bad for him......I just told him to move on over. I was going to try my hand at it. Not to brag but I am a total gamer chick. Love GAMES(video type games) and Doug wanted me to try because he wanted to heckle me while I tried for the alien men.

HA ha ha.........my first try and look what I WON. Not one BUT 3 alien men. Ha ha ha! I RULE The game world! That really really made my bday night. Plus, not to mention I can rub this into the Dh for along while makes it just priceless.

After we ate out ....we had cake and coffee at my MIL house. Shortly after opening my bday cards up and getting $$$$ I decided to run over on the way home to Archivers and buy this(in the Photo below) with my birthday money. Funny how short my birthday money lasted. Ha! Bye bye money.....HELLO Spicy Chicken Font. Yep, purchased another font for my Quickutz Revolution machine. Needed a more whimsical Font. Thought this Spicy Chicken one was FUN.

Anyone else have this font yet? Sorry this got a bit blurry but here's what the font looks like. Upper and lower case and punctuation too.

Here is the quickutz Revolution and my new font beside it. OOOh...can't wait to use this new font. By the way, I know there are alot of die cutting machines out there now. I love this new quickutz............tool! I hated the old one and didn't want to just do away with it so buying this new tool was the best value. So I could still use my old Dies.........and buy new ones. This saved my hand from world of hurt. As the old tool was just horrible on the hands. Manually squeezing a tool together....not cool! This one is so easy and no pressing, just spin the handle and die goes right on thru. I like the binder it comes in.........easy

Well, that was my birthday. Nothing too wild ....just laid back family fun and shopping. LOVE IT! Ending my birthday at Archivers was the best bday present EVER. The ladies at Archivers know us pretty well and thought it was nice of my DH to take me to the store and let me buy whatever. Ha! So I did and it was FUN.

Birthday Party Decor........CARS

Finally getting around to posting on more of Aaron's Birthday party. Yep, this time it's on the decor and party favors etc.....Below is the Cake. Really yummy cake....rainbow foods has the best cakes. This one was a marble cake. The frosting is just right and they have tons of cakes to pick from with themes. I added the candles....and Aaron just loved that Cars Candle. I purchased the candles extra from Target & Party City.

Got some pixs of the Birthday Boy.......Here he is with his party favors at his table. The pix below is my favorite. Finally got him to smile for the pix.

I made up the table with Cars Theme too. Bought everything I could at Party City that was themed with Cars Movie. Ha! $100.00 of stuff that you end up throwing away later. Kinda silly if you ask me....and I didn't even buy that much stuff. My MIL had a fit when she heard that price...I guess I should be a better bargain shopper? I think the balloons were the most $$$ .....I don't know... maybe people will think that cheap? Ha! Anyhow, Here is the table set up with all the fun party favors and such. I bought the noise makers at Target. Couldn't find any noisy ones at Party City. I have them pictured here below too on the clear plates. The Cars themed ones didn't make noise.

I was able to make 3 tablecloths out of the one I had purchased at Party City. I put one on the main table and one on the Present Table and One on Aaron's little table in the kitchen. Worked out great! Look at all the fun party favors for Aaron. He has a lunch box and his Birthday Champ Ribbon(that he would not Wear-ha). He has Silly straws, and Cars YO YO and Paddle, Cups and Plates etc.....

Below is a glimpse of the present table. I never have room for the presents on my counters with all the food set up. So I thought this year I would make a present table with our cart table. Worked out slick. Notice all the Cars themed wrappings. How much fun is that? I couldn't find a nice bag with Cars on it. SO I ended up using wrapping paper and I bought Blue bags and cut out the wrapping paper onto the bag. Worked out slick. Notice my MIL used the same wrapping paper for her gifts....LOL...there isn't alot of products out there that are different..HA! My MIL had a super cute CARS bag she found. IT was really nice! She also wrapped her gifts so cute. Notice the Beanie Teddy Bear as part of the gift wrapping? That was my MIL gift. So cute!!! Judy you ROCK! I threw in the pixs of the Balloons too. They were alot of $$$ but I can't believe the balloons still are going strong now. Usually they are depleted by now. There still tied to my banister in the kitchen and going strong.


Finally the food................we made it simple. We ended up having to have the Birthday Party at Lunch Time. As Doug's family could only make it for early time slot. So this was our lunch. Sloppy Joe's with chip and dips. I added the veggie tray for extra something something. So glad I did. It was a big hit. Plus, It wouldn't have felt like we had enough variety. I think I made a mean veggie tray this time around...ha, ha, ha! Kinda silly to get so excited over a veggie tray but it's the highlight for me. Like when things turn out compared to when they don't. I just used my big round tray I had for parties and put the veggie dip in the middle and pre-cut most of the veggies up the night before(no rinsing the veggies til the morning of...so they don't get soggy). I added the cherry tomatoes and the cheese cubes .....and they were a big hit. Love variety in the veggie tray too ...I used Cauliflower, green peppers, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, celery cheese, tomatoes.
I had to add this cute photo. Isn't it sweet? Aaron reading one of his cards he received. Grandma is helping him out. I love how he is touching the monkey on the card. He super liked everything he got for his bday and all his cards too. Will be posting some more personal pixs from the party soon....so Family stay tuned for that photo slide.

Top 2 Favorites

This is Aaron's top two big presents of his 4th Bday bash. First and favorite was this Little Tikes Jumper. It was a last minute buy and it turned out he liked it alot. So this will give him hours of entertainment. Love it! I thought about renting one out for his bday. After checking around turns out they cost the same to buy. So we bought one for his birthday celebration.

Aaron's 2nd big present was his new Bike.

Time to be a big boy and ride a real bike. Of course it has the training wheels on......ha....but he is already a pro at the bike now. He loves to drive anything I tell you.


Just a photo of Aaron on the bike/and the one and only time the bike will be in my living room....ha! At least I hope anyway.

A Birthday and a Wall Mural

We went out to eat for my Brother-In-Laws bday at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant last night. It was a good time and such good food. It's custom in Doug's family for the person with the birthday....gets to pick which restaurant for their bday celebration. Than, afterwords we all meet at home and have cake and ice cream and coffee.



Bob picked Texas Roadhouse. Here he is getting his pix taken on the BULL. Ha! Seems as tho Texas Roadhouse makes a big deal about birthdays. Looks like I won't be picking that restaurant for my birthday celebration. Ha ha ha! Don't want to get on the BULL. No way....no free bowl of ice cream is worth that for sure! Bob sure looks like he's having fun.

Last time I was at Texas Roadhouse I didn't get a pix of this really cool mural on the wall. I swore if I ever went back I would get a pix. Here it is...............so cute!!! I like how they portrayed Minnesota in this wall mural. All the animal critters are natives of MN(Moose, Raccoons, Fish, Wolf, Bear). That snowmobile is so funny! Love the ice fishing shed too. Notice it has satellite dish on the roof. This mural cracks me up. Plus, it really feels like you can walk right into the picture and go ice fishing(ha) or snowmobiling. Too much fun! Haven't blogged for awhile......it's a countdown to my sons birthday. His theme this year is Disney's Pixar CARS. Can't believe my babes is turning 4(WOW). So big! He has hit some big milestones.....and sure more to be discovered.
