Rainy weekend-Let's make Cupcakes finally rained here. We needed an all weekend soaker. It's been so dry here and pretty much in a drought. Even the temps dropped and pulled out the sweatshirts. Love it! Been so sick of 90 + was refreshing to get down into the 60's and 50's etc......nice change!

I've had the "urge" to make Cupcakes ever since I saw delicious cupcakes on Elsie Flannigan's Blog. She made these super duper cupcakes. I just been craving to make some ever since.

This was the weekend for it. I knew it was going to be ugly all weekend long(weather). So thought it would be perfect to create some tasty cupcakes.

I went to the store and bought tons of frostings, sugars, sprinkles. I used my little decorator with the fancy tips to create the lines and the designs on the cakes. Pretty fun and easy but my chocolate was starting to melt by the end........and should have put the cakes in the fridge. Some ended up gettin a little warped. oh well! Still fun and by the end of the night of creating them I was on a sugar HIGH. I ate so much frosting making them that I couldn't enjoy one by the time I was done decorating the cakes. Blah..........too much sugar!!! I think I used 3 cans of frosting on the cakes. Takes alot of frosting to create fun cakes. ha! The only thing I would do differently was use lighter frosting. The frosting was pretty heavy. I wonder if I should have used whipped frosting??? If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. This is really my first time making these kinds of Cakes. I usually make healthier cakes(carrot cake muffin's etc...). The above pix was kinda blurry but I just liked the look of it. As Ali Edwards says: Embrace your blurry photos. So I did on the above pix. Below is just another view of the cupcakes:

The happy cook with her cupcakes........................trying to get over my cupcake obsession.

Doug with a cupcake................................I think he liked them but could only handle two cakes.

Here is just a view of all the cupcakes I made............each pattern I tried to make different and unique except for a few I made the same.

Ha ha ha.....................Doug really really enjoyed them. Either that or this is what he looked like after eating one. The sugar "high" got to him.

Aaron and mommy together holding the cupcakes for the picture. Why not? nothing else to do on a rainy afternoon. Aaron was getting bored.

So we tried to make it more fun..............and when I took photos of the cakes........he ran and got his camera and started taking "his own photos" of the cakes. So cute! The pix below I told Aaron to "pretend" he was wanting to eat the cakes. Looks like I am the only one that made the "goofy" face~ha!

This is a cool pix of the cakes............................ended up being a great view of the cakes up close.

I think this photo speaks for it self huh? Ha ha ha...................don't worry...........I was only kidding around. I wouldn't feed my dog chocolate anything.

Leave everyone with my reaction to my cupcakes and picked out my favorite cake to show. This is right after I made the cakes and was on my Sugar "high" kick. Ha ha ha can you tell?

I think I got hungry or this is me getting ready to "upchuck" after so much sugar frosting~ha!
