My Paper Hearts

Here is the article from Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine. This issue was so much fun! I found this project and it inspired me to make my own version of Hearts for Valentine's Day. I usually put photos from Last year's Vday in a similar photo holder.

In the article they used chipboard hearts....but I didn't have any. So instead I just used heavy card stock(Brazill Basics) in Pink and Red colors.

Here are my hearts on my photo holder. I think the hardest part for me was figuring out how to do the photos sizes. Once I got that going/than it wasn't so bad. I made the photos in Black and White just like in the article.

I have photos of the individual hearts here:

this ones my fav. with the scrolly heart shape and the word LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cut out and criss-crossed.

I did two sizes of Hearts. One bigger/and one smaller. Above are the bigger hearts. I decided to make these with a photo on the one side of the heart shape(just like in the article). Which made more room to embellish these 3 hearts. I used only brazill papers to decorate. Than used Valentine Clear stamps to make the various shapes and word sentiments. I cut around some of the stamped images that were stamped on brazill card stock. Than I used pop up dots to make them appear more 3-D on the heart shape. The only other embellishments I used were some buttons. Glitter brads I had from my KI Memories embelly kit and ribbons. These were so much fun to create!!!

Some more of the larger hearts and the middle one is a smaller heart.

3 smaller hearts...........................I finally dusted off my pinking shear scissor and used it on these for border edge. I love the glittery brads. I am going to have to buy more of those. I am really "diggin" those brads alot! Love the closeup of Muffin....I barely fit that photo on the heart shape. same with the last photo...that one was difficult to create. Ended up making it sideways to fit. I wanted to use that photo and didn't want to reprint the photo out.

This was a super easy and fun project. I ended up cutting the heart shapes out with my fiscars tool. Really got me in the mood for Valentine's day.

I changed my banner to Valentine's theme...and will see my Heart shapes in the banner pix at the top of the page.

I took a pix of my Holiday area in my kitchen for the banner. I just kinda threw up my Vday stuff real quick so it's kinda messy but still fun. Look at all that candy! Love putting out candy for each holiday. Also in the pix is the teddy bears and stuffed animals Doug bought me over the years on Valentine's day. My favorite is my hearts light string hanging from the cabinets. Really gives it that Valentine's *GLOW*.

Enjoy the article and hope this inspires you to make your own Valentine's projects. There is more inspiration in the new issue of Scrapbooks Etc.....some really neat stuff. Check it out and Happy Valentines WEEK.
